Today I wanted to share another project from ourFall Porch. It took lots of smallish projects to pull off the whole look, some I shared in the post with the Fall Porch reveal and others I’m breaking down for you. This time I’m sharing how you can make this Fall Denim Pillow.

Part of the front porch makeover into fall involved updated a dingy glider bench. It was rescued from the curb by my dad and we’ve used it as is until it met Krylon Dark Bronze Metallic Spray Paint. This paint was like magic!!! It has just the right amount of sparkle and shine and the perfect shade of bronze, it really brought it back to life. Before the update we had a red and white striped seat cushion on the bench that looked good for summer but wasn’t the look I was going for to complete this fall look. Do you think of denim and your favorite pair of jeans in the fall? Well I do!!!  A denim pillow sounded like the perfect addition to the bench for fall.

Yes, I love denim. In case you don’t remember here’s proof in this Denim Coasters Post and this Wreath Post. And so far these denim projects are coming from worn out jeans from my hard working hubby including this project.

To make this pillow you will also need a long pillow form like this one on Amazon.

This is so simple. Stuff the pillow down the leg of the jeans. I pushed it to the hem of the pant leg. Once you are happy with the pillow placement cut the jeans to be just a bit longer than the pillow.

Fold the ends of the jeans in. Using a glue gun seal or close the ends. If you prefer you can sew the ends. I like fast projects and am not the best with the sewing machine yet.

Using a cricut  or die cut machine cut out the word “fall” with just cardstock. Use spray adhesive to stick the word to the denim. Tape off the parts of the denim you don’t want painted.  You can use spray paint or craft paint. I liked that Dark Bronze Metallic so much that’s what I used. I also cut out leaf shapes and sprayed pillow covers that I already had around the house.

How are you decorating for fall?
