Painted Candle Holder

Hi All!

Today’s post is completely meant to get you thinking about how to use what you already have in your home but. If you read my Blog Tour post I tried to convey a big purpose for my blog is to inspire others to DO!!! Do for your homes and families.

I want you to use what you have! Painted furniture and accent pieces are really hot right now, I mean super trendy. If you have things that are outdated, worn out, totally don’t match your style….you get what I’m saying here right-  paint can update and make them belong. Use what you have and make it fit your vision for your space. It’s works wonders for a budget.

I’ve had this candle holder for years. I used to sell Southern Living At Home (I believe it has a new name now) and this piece was either in the kit or it was an incentive item. It matched a few other items from the catalog and didn’t totally clash with my décor at the time. Well now it clashes majorly. I tried selling this at a garage sale. When it didn’t go I couldn’t let go of it, I loved the shape of it but green, orangey-yellow and red= nope it’s gotta go!

I had some navy paint left over from another project that I will share later this week. And since I’m adding blues in varied shades all over the house I thought navy would be the perfect way to update this candle holder so it could come back into our home.

I used the navy where the green and orangey-yellow and gray where the white and red was. The paint job before already had a distressed sort of look to it so I didn’t have to be precise with painting.
